Aotearoa, the land of the long white cloud, and the land of Manus. The new Waka MANU has hit the water.
A Manu is that classic NZ, V-shaped dive bomb where you land on your ass trying to make the biggest splash possible. The Manu kayak was dreamt up on the Kaituna river, Okere Falls – home of warm water, great rapids, beautiful bush and plenty of Manus.
Following in the line of the OG, Steeze , Stoke and even the Skuxx, the Waka Manu brings something from each of them but especially from the OG. This full size creek boat gives you that high, dry, confidence-inspiring feel that people love in the OG, while blending in some of the faster, more dynamic characteristics that make the Stoke a joy to paddle. The end result is a boat that feels at home charging big, pushy whitewater but still provides maximum fun surfing down laterals and smashing eddies. Plenty of rocker keeps you on the surface and skipping, and the design provides that reassuring platform when you’re dropping into something messy. Underneath the boat, we’ve added some of the Skuxx hull to carve across currents, hold a clean line, whilst still letting the boat break free and stay loose. The Manu is the creek boat where you will say “if other paddlers in other boats can make it, I definitely can in the Manu”. This boat is for paddlers who want one boat that can handle big missions, technical creeks, and everything in between.
